Mela is a happy company of one. After a decade producing websites for the BBC, my freelance journey started in 2015. Throughout my career I've met a collective of creative business partners (copywriters, illustrators, developers etc.) with whom I collaborate to deliver bespoke digital solutions tailored to each client's unique needs.

All work created with Mela Studio is intuitive and methodical - based on years of designing systems and websites with the users in mind. Projects always vary in requirements, user understanding and scope - but I will always talk this through to craft a solution that best fits your needs. 

No matter where you are in your business, I’m here to help you reach where you want to be next.

  • As small business owners, we often need some support in bringing clarity, bouncing around ideas, or tackling a pesky problem where you simply need to get some help.

    I’ve been running my business now for 10 years, so I can bring knowledge, fun, and creativity along to a one-to-one online session.

    My areas of expertise are:

    DIGITAL PRODUCTS & SYSTEMS: Answering questions about Squarespace, Shopify, Flodesk, Google Workspace, Adobe Suite, Mailchimp, or Eventbrite. I’m an accredited Squarespace trainer - so you can bring a question or issue that’s bothering you, and I can show you the ropes.

    WEBSITES: Reviewing your websites layout, CSS, providing suggestions on your content, or helping you with creating new pages. If you have a longer wish-list of website fixes, I also have a Squarespace Tidy-Up Day which may be a better option for you.

    BRANDING: As an experienced brand designer, I can help be a creative sounding board for throwing around ideas for naming, creative direction, concepts, or brand refinement.

    FREELANCING: Sometimes, it’s not a website-based problem but you want to ask advice on general freelancing. I’ve been doing this for a while now, and I can help answer your questions around how to get set up, manage clients, or anything else that’s on your mind.

  • This service is for business owners who have an existing website, but it needs some TLC before you put it out to the world.

    It includes:

    • A full day of my time - no distractions: just me, your website, and a whole lot of ideas.

    • A morning online kick-off call to discuss your wish-list, and the achievable priorities.

    • Access to my business WhatsApp, so that you can ask questions or chat to me throughout the day.

    • A summary walkthrough video, reviewing our list of priorities and how I’ve actioned each item. I’ll also include handy tutorial videos where extra guidance might be needed.

    • A discount on any future power hour sessions.

Packages, half days and retainers available on request. Retainers save 10% on 3 month bookings and 20% on 6 months.
